Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. They moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five where she attended an academy called the Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma was aware she was going to become an actress and for a number of years she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned performing and singing. When she was 10 years old, Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 The film broke records for its debut day revenue as well as the opening weekend's earnings. Critics have praised both the film and the performances by the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a Feature Film. Emma was nominated five times for her performance in the movie.
